Egypt has welcomed warm remarks from Algeria’s president, highlighting the robust historical partnership and ongoing cooperation between the two North African nations.
In an official statement released on Sunday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi underscored the importance of solidarity and mutual commitment in the face of regional challenges.

“I welcome the statements made by my brother, His Excellency President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, regarding the Arab Republic of Egypt, which reflect the depth of the historic ties between Egypt and Algeria,” President Sisi said on his official social media account.
“The relationship between our countries is marked by a legacy of struggle and cooperation against common challenges. True solidarity among brothers is the real guarantee for protecting the interests of our peoples and safeguarding the stability of our nations.”
President Sisi’s statement comes in response to remarks made by Algerian President Tebboune on Saturday, in which he praised the close and fraternal ties between Algeria and Egypt, as well as with Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
President Tebboune described the relationship with Egypt as “more than brotherly,” adding, “Between Egypt and me, President Sisi is like a brother.”
President Tebboune also recalled the enduring support Egypt provided to Algeria following its independence, stating, “The first army that helped us in 1963 was the Egyptian army, and [former Algerian President] Boumediene always stood by them. Any attack on Egypt is an attack on us, and we will never accept any aggression.”
