Minister of Local Development and Environment, Manal Awad, on Wednesday reviewed the progress of upgrading Egypt’s Integrated Digital Environmental Impact Assessment (IDEIA) platform and implementing the electronic ticketing system for natural reserves.

The initiative is part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to modernise environmental sector workflows, aiming to speed up service delivery, improve institutional efficiency, and enhance transparency and governance in managing environmental affairs.

During her meeting on Wednesday with Sherif Abdel Rahim, CEO of the Environmental Affairs Agency, Minister Awad examined the development of the electronic booking platform for natural reserve entry tickets and activity permits, designed to simplify visitor procedures, promote eco-tourism, and support the preservation of Egypt’s unique natural resources.

The minister emphasised that the new system will provide comprehensive information on reserves, available activities, and visitor services, while also integrating electronic payment options to improve accessibility and user experience. She stressed the urgency of completing the required website updates to enable the system’s launch as soon as possible and ensure smooth, efficient operation.
