Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health Khaled Abdel Ghaffar said that the World Health Organization (WHO) announced that Egypt is the first African country to reach WHO Maturity level 3 in medicines regulation, adding that this is a new certificate for the health system under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
This will open vistas for investments in the Egyptian market and boost the reputation of the Egyptian medicines and the global trust in their quality and effectiveness to increase demand on them.
This will also promote export opportunities and incentivize the flow of Egyptian medical cosmetics into Africa, the Arab world and the Mediterranean region.
Abdel Ghaffar congratulated the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) for getting ML3 certificate for drugs and vaccines as part of WHO ranking for national organizational authorities.
He lauded the fruitful cooperation between the Egyptian state and WHO towards achieving goals of comprehensive health coverage and reaching the highest level of effectiveness and improving the quality of the Egyptians’ life, adding that this accomplishment comes as a result of the state’s keenness on investments in all the health systems.
Spokesman for the Health Ministry Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said that Egypt is the first state to get ML3 in medicines regulation, adding that this ranking comes after assessing the EDA by a group of international experts.
