Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity Maya Morsi on Thursday announced that cash support under “Takaful and Karama” cash transfer program for the month of August will be disbursed on Friday, August 15, to 4.7 million families, with a total value exceeding EGP 4 billion.
Morsi said that beneficiaries will be able to access their payments starting early tomorrow morning through all ATMs of banks nationwide, and can also use their cards for electronic payments, government transactions and purchases.
The beneficiaries can also get the money through post offices as of Sunday, August 17, the minister added.
The Ministry of Social Solidarity is coordinating with governors and directors of social solidarity directorates nationwide to oversee the disbursement process.
The “Takaful and Karama” cash transfer program provides financial support to 4.7 million families, nearly 18 million people, with an annual budget of EGP 54 billion, following the permanent 25 percent increase introduced in April 2025.
