Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek el-Mulla has directed officials of the Misr Petroleum and Co-operation Petroleum companies to proceed with development works to keep pace with modernity, provide distinguished services to consumers, as well as to expand aircraft and ship catering services at local ports as a way to increase the state’s dollar resources.
This came during a meeting to approve planning budgets for the 2024/2025 fiscal year for Petrogas, Co-operation Petroleum, Misr Petroleum and the Egyptian General Petroleum companies, the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources said in a statement yesterday.
Mulla praised the national role played by Misr Petroleum and Co-operation Petroleum companies in fulfilling a significant part of the citizens’ need for fuels, especially in governorates where the private sector is not engaged in that activity.
He also lauded their role in meeting the electricity sector’s needs for diesel.
The minister emphasised the strategic importance of Petrogas, highlighting its significant role in stabilizing the butane market and meeting citizens’ daily needs for butane gas cylinders.
