Egyptian Minister of State for Military Production, Mohamed Morsi, inspected the locally-made equipment that is due to participate in the second edition of Egypt’s defense expo, widely known as EDEX.
The exhibition this year, the minister said, would be exceptional.
He noted that the biannual event reflects Egypt’s political leadership’s aspiration to put Egypt on the map of major fair-organising states around the world.
Minister Morsi revealed that the exhibition, which will start on November 29 through December 2, would be wider in scope this year.
“Over 400 exhibitors will participate in the fair this year,” Minister Morsi said.
He said these exhibitors would include local, regional and international defense companies and agencies.
The minister noted that over 30,000 defence specialists and people interested in defense industries are expected to visit the different pavilions of the fair this year as well.
EDEX is by far the largest defence expo in Egypt and the African region.
It brings together major local and international companies in the fields of defense and armament.
It has become an important international platform for the exchange of visions and experiences.
The exhibition also aspires to become a meeting point for top arms and defense industry companies around the world.
Minister Morsi said the Ministry of State for Military Production would exhibit a long list of new products this year.
“All state institutions are joining hands to organise an exhibition that fits Egypt’s greatness,” the minister said.
Meanwhile, official Spokesman of the Ministry of State for Military Production, Mohamed Bakr, said the exhibition would be a good opportunity for the ministry to showcase its technological and technical capabilities when it comes to military industries.
“The fair will also be a good chance for ministry officials and experts to review the latest in military industries,” Bakr said.
The fair will be held under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi who is the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
It will be organized at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in the Fifth Settlement outside Cairo.
