Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority, Ali el-Ghamrawy, held a meeting with representatives of Servier Egypt, led by General Manager Sami Sanqrot, to discuss enhancing co-operation and localising advanced pharmaceutical manufacturing in Egypt.

At the start of the meeting, Chairman el-Ghamrawy welcomed the delegation, emphasising the authority’s commitment to building effective partnerships with leading international pharmaceutical companies.

He noted that such collaborations are essential for supporting Egypt’s pharmaceutical system and ensuring patients have access to modern medicines.

He also reaffirmed the EDA’s continued support for national and international partners, highlighting the importance of expediting the registration of new and innovative pharmaceutical products to improve access to contemporary treatments and meet patients’ needs.

The discussions covered the provision of priority medicines for Egyptian patients and reviewed Servier Egypt’s future plans in the local market, including supporting domestic manufacturing, increasing investment, and expanding production capacity.

General Manager Sanqrot praised the EDA’s role in developing Egypt’s pharmaceutical sector and confirmed the company’s commitment to strengthening co-operation.

He stressed that this partnership would help make innovative medicines available while enhancing investment and manufacturing opportunities in the Egyptian market.
