CAIRO – An Egyptian initiative to upgrade the industry, “Start”, is acting to unify efforts with the private sector, government bodies and international institutions to develop technical education and vocational training.
This is a key factor in building Egyptian citizens and achieving the sustainable development goals, said Abdel Rahman Zawbaa, a member of “Start” – Ebdaa in Arabic.
He was speaking during the inaugural session of the International Fair and Forum for technical, vocational education, training, and Career Pathways, “Edu Tech Egypt”, which opened here earlier Wednesday.
He said the initiative adopts a national strategy to invest in the human elements through upgrading institutions of technical education and vocational training. This, Zawbaa added, is meant to narrow the gap between labor market demands and skills of graduates of technical and vocational schools in Egypt.
