Chairman of the Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority (EAEA) Amr El-Hag Ali conferred on Monday with Argentina’s new envoy to Cairo Gonzalo Urriolabeitia and his accompanying delegation on means of enhancing scientific and research co-operation between the two countries.
The Argentinian delegation paid a visit to Egypt’s second nuclear reactor complex in Anshas.
In a statement, EAEA said El-Hag shed light on EAEA activities in the peaceful use of nuclear energy and existing co-operation between EAEA and Argentina’s INVAP company since Egypt’s establishment of its second nuclear reactor complex and till the present time.
Director of the Reactor Dr Magdy Zaki briefed the visiting delegation on the operation of the reactor and its operation system.
Argentina’s envoy, for his part, voiced happiness over visiting the reactor which is one of the key projects implemented as part of co-operation between the two countries. He said his country is seeking to further bolster such co-operation with EAEA in future.
