The East Port Said Port received the vessel MV PAROSHIP from Mauritania on Sunday, docking at the multipurpose “Sky Ports” berth.
This is the largest dry bulk ship ever to call at an Egyptian port, which reflects the ongoing enhancement of the port’s operational capabilities and infrastructure to accommodate mega-ships, Suez Canal Economic Zone Authority (SCZone) said in a statement.
Carrying an estimated 180,000 tonnes, the MV PAROSHIP surpasses the port’s previous largest Cape Size vessels, which handled up to 165,000 tonnes.
At approximately 292 metres in length and 45 metres in width, the vessel’s arrival highlights the port’s ample depths, high-quality berths, and the operational readiness of the multipurpose terminal.
The vessel’s arrival highlights the authority’s substantial investments in port infrastructure, technical equipment, and operational systems, positioning East Port Said to efficiently handle mega-ships in line with international standards, said SCZone Chairman Walid Gamal Eddin.
