Vice President of Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) Sameh Neda has made a tour of seven African universities in Tanzania and Uganda to brief African students on the scholarship opportunities funded by the 8th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 8).
In a statement on yesterday, E-Just vice president said he held talks with officials in the African universities on means of enhancing joint co-operation in the fields of scientific research and postgraduate studies.
During the African tour, Neda briefed the African students on the scholarships granted by E-Just to support development efforts in the African continent.
He said TICAD 8 is funding 150 scholarships for students of masters and doctorate degrees in the specialisations of engineering and applied sciences, adding that the scholarships cover accommodation and travel costs.
TICAD is an open and inclusive forum that brings together African countries and development partners, including international and regional organisations, donor countries, Asian countries, the private sector and civil society organisations, dealing with African development.
