Military Spokesman Staff colonel Gharib Abdel Hafiz said the Armed Forces foiled an attempt to smuggle drugs south of El-Ouga border crossing. This operation comes as part of the plan of the security forces responsible for securing the northeastern international border.
The amount of the seized narcotics is estimated to be approximately 174 kilograms of various types of drugs. As a result of an exchange of fire, one smuggler was killed and six others were arrested, the spokesman said.
The military spokesman also reaffirmed the Armed Forces full readiness to protect the capabilities of this great nation.
