Assistant Foreign Minister of for Consular Affairs and Egyptians Expatriates, Ambassador Haddad el-Gohary, convened a virtual meeting on Wednesday with ambassadors and consuls serving in Egypt’s missions in the Gulf and Levant countries to review the latest developments affecting Egyptian communities in these regions amid the current regional situation.
The meeting highlighted the role of the task force established within the Ministry’s Consular Sector, emphasising the 24/7 operation of the Ministry’s central hotline, which is staffed by a specialised team to respond promptly to citizen inquiries.
Coordination with diplomatic missions in affected countries was also discussed to ensure continuous communication and support for Egyptian nationals.
Ambassador el-Gohary said that all missions have been instructed to establish dedicated working groups within embassies and consulates to operate round-the-clock, and provide the necessary assistance and support to citizens.
These teams are also tasked with liaising with host countries to facilitate transit visas for visitors or stranded Egyptian community members seeking travel to neighbouring states.
The ministry remains committed to safeguarding the well-being of Egyptian expatriates and ensuring timely assistance during this challenging period.
