The Drug Information Association (DIA) for the Middle East and North Africa concluded its events with a discussion session held by EDA, entitled “The Excellence of the Egyptian Drug Authority: Organisational Leadership in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.”
Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA), Dr Ali el-Ghamrawy, stressed the importance of this event as a platform for leaders of regional and international drug regulators to support innovation.
El-Ghamrawy, during the session, confirmed the importance of the role played by EDA in regulatory leadership in the Middle East and North Africa.
Also, he lauded Egypt’s active role in the African continent and efforts in raising the efficiency of the various regulatory capabilities of African countries.
Egypt is distinguished as a training centre for all regulatory authorities on the continent, he added.
Undersecretary of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Pharmaceutical Industry, Dr Riad Armanious, emphasised EDA’s role as a strategic partner for the industrial sector, promoting innovation and investment in the domestic and international market.
The session tackled the Egyptian Drug Authority’s progress towards organisational excellence as it comes within the framework of EDA’s desire to promote regional and international co-operation and establish Egypt as a regional centre for innovation in the drug industry, in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030 for sustainable development.
