DAMANHUR – Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli said Monday development projects in Beheira governorate are estimated at about 124 billion Egyptian pounds.
Speaking at a press conference on the sidelines of a tour of the governorate Monday, Madbouli said national development projects are carried out across all governorates to raise the living conditions of people nationwide.
Over the past four years, more than 4,320 national projects were implemented at a total cost of 80 billion Egyptian pounds, he further mentioned.
Until now, nearly 60 percent of these national projects has been implemented at 49 billion Egyptian pounds, said the premier.
In Beheira, Madbouli is inspecting projects of presidential initiative “Decent Life.”
Madbouli said that the implementation of development projects in Beheira Governorate comes in parallel with the launch by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi of “Decent Life” initiative.
Speaking at a press conference on the sidelines of the inspection visit to Beheira Governorate Monday, the premier said the presidential initiative covers six centers and 42 local units in the governorate with up to 3,900 villages.
Madbouli said “Decent Life” project aims at providing social protection and realizing societal and cultural development nationwide.
The initiative targets the Egyptian Countryside that represents 60 per cent of Egyptian people, according to him.
The government still has a long route to go and it will spare no effort to finalise all these projects on the ground, he said.
Madbouli added the government will maintain implementing social protection projects as a key priority despite circumstances and challenges facing the country.
