Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity has launched its latest development convoy of the drive, ‘With awareness, Egypt becomes better’, targeting the villages covered by the Decent Life presidential initiative in the Sharkiya Governorate, a ministry press release said.
The convoy includes a number of development and social services and activities, performing free medical examinations and disseminating awareness on rehabilitation services for people with disabilities. It also stressed the prime importance of enrolling children in nurseries.
The launch of the convoy activities was attended by Governor Mamdouh Ghorab and Director of the Social Solidarity Directorate in Sharkiya Abdel Hamid Al-Tahawy.
The activities cover villages of Decent Life in the cities of al-Husseiniyah, Zaqaziq, and Minyaal-Qamh, and were launched in co-operation with the Ministry of Health, the Nasser Social Bank and several non-governmental organisations (NGOs) as well as local partners, with the aim of delivering service and support to areas most in need.
Through the economic empowerment axis, the convoy received members of the public and acquainted them with the ministry’s programmes, professions and crafts where people can qualified for through productive families, micro-enterprises and the Forsa Programme.
Members of the convoy referred the value of work and facing multi-dimensional poverty, as well as the available training opportunities and mechanisms for obtaining production tools and loans.
Representatives of the of the Nasser Social Bank explained to the public the bank’s programmes and received applications to launch micro and small enterprises.
This is the second convoy of the ‘With awareness, Egypt becomes better’ drive. The first was launched in the Behira Governorate.
