Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production General Mohamed Zaki met Monday with a delegation from the US House of Representatives headed by Adam Smith who serves as ranking member of the Armed Services Committee.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed a host of issues, including the situation in the war-torn Gaza Strip.
They also exchanged viewpoints on the necessity of preventing the expansion of the military operations in the Palestinian enclave in order to ensure that the pillars of security and stability in the Middle East region are not destabilized.
The meeting also cast a spotlight on Egypt’s strenuous efforts for ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinians in the Strip.
