CAIRO – Egyptian Defence Minister Abdel Meguid Saqr inspected a number of Armed Forces units due to take part in the African Union (AU) missions.
Chief-of-Staff Ahmed Khalifa and a number of Armed Forces top brass attended the event.
Commander of the central military zone Abdel Mo’ti Allam underlined the General Commander’s commitment to high-level training of the troops due to travel as part of African Union missions.
Saqr stood on technical and administrative preparation procedures for the participating force, especially using up-to-date weapons, equipment, and advanced technological means.
Saqr inspected a number of training fields and education classes which reflected the high-level training of the forces to efficiently carry out their mission and promote security and stability.
He highlighted commtiment to Egypt’s historic role in supporting the African nations.
Saqr forwarded greetings and appreciation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, stressing that the Armed Forces participation as part of the UN mission came within the framework of Egypt’s pioneering role at the regional and international levels in addition to exerting all needed efforts to confront challenges facing international peace and security.
He called on the Armed Forces to efficiently carry out their missions to promote Egypt’s regional and international position.
