The Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of Defence and Military Production General Abdel Meguid Saqr visited the Southern Military Zone on Thursday , accompanied by Chief of Staff General Ahmed Khalifa and other senior military officials.
The visit was part of the Commander-in-Chief’s ongoing efforts to assess the combat readiness and capabilities of various military units.
During the visit, Minister Saqr was briefed by the Commander of the Southern Military Zone, Major General Amr Gamil, on the zone’s readiness and the support it receives from the General command. General Gamil emphasised the high level of combat readiness maintained by the troops stationed in the southern region, which is considered a strategic area for Egypt.
In his address to the troops, Minister Saqr conveyed greetings from President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and commended the soldiers for their dedication and sacrifices in safeguarding Egypt’s southern borders. He highlighted the importance of continuous training and development to maintain the military’s cutting-edge capabilities.
The minister also stressed the need for troops to stay informed about regional and global developments and to be prepared to respond to any challenges that may arise. He emphasised the military’s role in supporting Egypt’s national development plans and its commitment to maintaining peace and security in the region.
