Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defence and Military Production, Lieutenant General Abdul-Maguid Saqr, reaffirmed the unwavering support the Armed Forces attach for its personnel, recognising their indispensable role in safeguarding Egypt’s security and stability.
Saqr remarks came as he joined Iftar banquet with Air Force fighters.
Chief-of-Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, commanders of the main branches and senior officers attended the gathering.
The event included a speech by Sheikh Khaled Al-Gendi, member of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in which he highlighted the virtues of this holy month of Ramadan and its importance in instilling the values of patience in the hearts of the fighters, as well as the virtues of Laylat Al-Qadr, which Allah Almighty singled out for the revelation of the Holy Qur’an.
General Sakr conveyed the greetings of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to the Air Force fighters and his appreciation of their sincere efforts in defending the homeland in light of the complex security challenges facing the region.
He said that the General Command of the Armed Forces is keen to provide continuous support to the Air Force and enhance its combat capabilities to remain capable of carrying out all tasks assigned to it with efficiency and competence.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces stressed the importance of continued training, as well as maintaining the highest levels of preparedness and combat readiness, and improving the technical efficiency of weapons and equipment to protect the homeland and safeguard its sanctities in light of the rapid changes in the region. He praised the continuous efforts exerted by the Armed Forces to preserve the nation’s capabilities under various circumstances and at any sacrifices.
