Defence Chief meets heads of military delegations at EDEX 2021

General Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defence and Military Production, held several bilateral meetings o Wednesday on the sidelines of the third day of the EDEX-2021 exhibition.

Minister Zaki met with the first deputy minister of defence of Greece, the Chief of Staff of the Algerian People’s National Army, the Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces, British Minister of Defence Procurement, representatives of the French company Thales, the CEO of MBDA, Executive Vice President of the French SAFRAN Corporation, CEO of US Lockheed Martin Corporation, First Secretary of Sri Lankan Ministry of Defence, and Bulgarian Minister of Economy.

The meetings covered a number of issues of mutual concern, mainly ways to enhance military co-operation.

 

Minister Zaki said EDEX aims to serve as a unique military gathering for the exchange of experience and the presentation of the latest innovations.

 

Meanwhile, Egypt’s Chief of Staff Osama Askar discussed joint co-operation with his Algerian, Qatari, and Saudi counterparts.

 

Egypt is exhibiting military vehicles, including armoured ones, surface-to-surface missiles, surface-to-air missiles, small, medium, and heavy arms ammunition, anti-submarine missiles and drones.

 

Egypt is also displaying, for the first time, its recently produced drone dubbed “Nut”, which is named after Ancient Egyptian goddess of the sky.
