Egypt’s Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defence and Military Production,General Abdel Mageed Saqr, received Benin’s Foreign Minister Olushegun Adjadi Bakari, and his accompanying delegation currently visiting Egypt.
Talks during the meeting focused onthe latest regional and internationaldevelopments, and theirimpact on security and stability across Africa, amid the current circumstances and challenges.
They also addressed various aspects of defence and security co-operation between Egypt and Benin.
GeneralSaqr voiced appreciation of the longstanding relations between the two countries. He expressed hopes to advance bilateral co-operation over the coming period, mainly in the military domain.
For his part, Benin’s Foreign Minister Olushegun lauded Egypt’s active role in the region,referring to the country’s efforts to support African nations in addressing various issues and crises to help achieve security and stability for the peoples of the continent.
The meeting was attended by Chief of Staff of the Armed ForcesLieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, and several senior military commanders.
