Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defence and Military Production General Abdul-Maguid Saqr attended on Tuesday the discussion of the main research prepared by the Operations Authority titled “Egypt’s Competitive Role in the Energy Sector”.
The event was also attended by Chief-of-Staff of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi as well as senior military commanders, public figures, strategic experts, and students from military academies and Egyptian universities.
Head of the Armed Forces Operations Authority Major General Nabil El-Sayed Hassaballah expressed gratitude to the General Command of Armed Forces for its continued support in enhancing research within the military.
He noted that this research comes amid shifting regional and international challenges and reaffirmed the Armed Forces’ commitment to developing its capacities to safeguard Egypt’s national security.
A group of strategic experts and energy researchers contributed to preparing the research paper, which addressed both conventional and non-conventional sources of energy security, using modern scientific approaches.
The research concluded with a set of recommendations and proposed mechanisms to support Egypt’s vision of becoming a regional hub for secure and sustainable energy.
General Abdul-Maguid Saqr conveyed to the participants the greetings of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
He praised the research for its relevance, emphasising its importance in optimising the use of Egypt’s diverse energy resources in alignment with Egypt’s Vision 2030 for sustainable development.
