CAIRO – Deputy Speaker of the Senate MP Phoebe Fawzi asserted Monday taht deepening local manufacture and upping exports are key pillars in “Egypt 2030” dream as part of ambitious plans adopted by the new republic to develop Egyptian economy.
The move is also showing President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s keenness on achieving comprehensive and rapid economic growth, she added while addressing the Senate’s general session on Monday.
The lawmaker said local industry is already achieving several goals, including increasing production to meet needs of local markets and raising exports.
The measure is mainly contributing to up job opportunities and reduce unemployment rates, according to her.
Fawzi underlined the necessity of supporting and boosting small and medium-sized industries, that already achieve a quantum leap in manufacture in the country.
Minister of Industry and Trade Nivine Gamea was present.
