The Hayah Karima (Decent Life) Foundation and the Nasser Social Bank (NSB) signed a co-operation protocol within the framework of the presidential ‘Decent Life’ initiative, which aims to develop villages and improve living conditions of the rural communities across the country.
The protocol will contribute to efforts to support the neediest social classes and consolidate social protection measures, through the creation of new job opportunities in the villages targeted by the initiative, according to an official statement released on Wednesday.
Chairperson of the Decent Life Foundation’s Board of Trustees Aya Omar Al-Qamari, and NSB Chairman and CEO Mohamed Ashmawi attended the signing ceremony.
In line with the protocol, NSB will open investment accounts for the orphan children as part of the national savings project ‘Our Children, Our Future.’ It will also empower children of determination in the targeted villages through all tools that help reintegrate them in the society, and enable them able to engage in work.
In addition, job opportunities will be offered to the targeted categories through financing micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), to empower them economically, based on the researches, studies and field nominations provided by the foundation.
NSB will also provide banking and social services to secure decent life for citizens, especially the targeted categories, through employing capital, as well as setting new development programmes focusing on women empowerment, in co-operation with the Tahya Misr (Long Live Egypt) Fund.
Moreover, the NSB will open a main account for the Decent Life Foundation to receive donations and grants supporting its goals and activities. It will also facilitate the purchase of “Zad Al-Khair” investment certificates and channel the returns to the foundation’s financial donations.
