A leading Egyptian dentist living and working in the United States participated on Thursday in a medical campaign launched by the Ministry of Immigration and Egyptians Abroad Affairs.

The campaign is part of the presidential Decent Life Initiative and is carried out in co-operation with the ministries of health and population and higher education and scientific research.

The campaign enlists support from Egyptian professionals living and working in other countries in advancing Egypt’s human development.

It enlisted help yesterday from Dr Medhat Mongi, a dental surgeon who has been working in the United States for 30 years now.

Minister of Immigration and Egyptians Abroad Affairs, Nabila Makram, highlighted the importance of continued co-operation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in advancing the implementation of the Decent Life Initiative.

She added that the new campaign was fueled by requests by a large number of Egyptian medical doctors who live and work in other countries to participate in the Decent Life Initiative.

“Egyptian doctors living in other countries are eager to be part of the presidential initiative for the development of the Egyptian countryside,” Minister Makram said.

Health, she said, is central to Egypt’s human development.

She noted that her ministry had released a form to be filled by Egyptian medical doctors living in other countries who wish to take part in local development initiatives during their vacations in Egypt.
