The Decent Life Foundation has distributed 850,000 boxes loaded with foodstuffs for free to needy people across Egypt.
The boxes, the foundation said, were distributed within the Wasl al-Kheir initiative which sends free food items to the poor in the different governorates, the foundation said in a statement.
It added that over 9,000 volunteers operate within the initiative which is launched at directives by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi for relieving financial and economic burdens on the poor across the nation.

The Decent Life Foundation has launched the One Million Food Boxes campaign, through which it wants to give food aid to the poor in the different governorates.
The foundation said it would move ahead with its efforts to help the poor, enlisting support from grassroots associations in all governorates.
It highlighted its belief in the importance of its social role towards vulnerable Egyptians.
The foundation said it plays this role in partnership with the concerned authorities on the road to supporting these groups.
