The Decent Life Foundation has launched the first expanded comprehensive development convoy in Fayyoum.
The event, entitled ‘You are Life’, started on Monday and will last until August 20.
Governor of Fayoum Ahmed Ansari attended the launch ceremony alongside Aya Omar Al-Qamari, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Decent Life Foundation.
The six-day event is held in co-operation with representatives of the ministries of youth and sports and education, in addition to members from the National Council for Women (NCW), the Fayyoum Fund for Drug Control and Treatment of Addiction (FDCTA) and the British University in Cairo.
The convoy offers many activities, including medical clinics, pharmacy for distributing drugs free of charge, a laboratory, drawing and handicraft workshops, seminars for children and youth, a place for the issuance of national ID cards for women, playground for sportspeople and artistic activities for young children.
Addressing the event, the governor of Fayyoum said that the Egyptian government is working around the clock to provide better public services to those living in villages most in need.
This came within the framework of implementing the directives of the political leadership to improve living standards for rural people across the country.
Ansari said that his governorate is co-operating with various state institutions to improve public services for citizens.
The event is also an important meeting point to provide around 1,000 jobs for young people.
During the event, the NCW and the Fayyoum Fund for Drug Control and Treatment of Addiction hold a series of workshops to educate young people about the importance of learning handicrafts, sound health methods, and mechanisms to combat and treat addiction.
The comprehensive development convoy includes a medical convoy in the specialties of internal medicine, family planning, chronic diseases, kidney diseases, women’s health, children’s anemia, and coronavirus vaccinations, in addition to offering medicines free of charge.
Decent Life initiative, launched by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in early 2019, is aimed to provide a decent life for the most vulnerable groups nationwide. It further contributes to enhancing the quality of daily public services provided to citizens in rural areas.
The project also provides health care, medical services, surgeries and prosthetic devices to people in need. Moreover, it aims to develop the country’s poorest villages, according to the poverty map, provides job opportunities and supports orphan girls who wish to marry.
