Finance Minister Mohamed Maait said the deadline for applying for the Cars of Egyptians Abroad initiative is May 14, noting that there will be no further extension.
He reiterated on Saturday that 600 cars have been released for beneficiaries so far, while the total remittances hit $385 million.
A total of 3,000 requests are received daily under the recent amendments and facilitations offered by the government, the minister added.
The facilitations include cutting customs tax by 70%, in addition to allowing the expats to import cars over a period of five years instead of one year.
