Fighting mounted between Israel and Hamas, the group that rules the Gaza Strip, nearly a week ago after Israeli police officers entered the Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, and forced the Palestinian prayers out.
At the same time, Speaker of the Arab Parliament Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Asoumi landed in the Cairo International Airport on Monday, starting a several-day visit, during which he will preside over several activities of the Arab Parliament, to discuss recent developments in the Gaza Strip and the Palestinian territories.
Egyptian authorities continued to receive Palestinians wounded by Israeli air strikes over Gaza for treatment at Egyptian hospitals. Egypt opened the Rafah border crossing on Sunday.
Also, on Monday, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi took part at the Paris Conference. During the conference he stressed Egypt’s firm commitment to continue supporting the brotherly Sudan to achieve the stability and development that the Sudanese people deserve.
On the coronavirus pass, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli called a meeting on Monday with Health Minister Hala Zayed to follow up the latest developments in this file and the endeavors of providing anti-virus vaccines.
The meeting outcomes showed that during the past few days, 1.7 million doses of “COVAX” and 500.000 doses of “Sinopharm” were received, and a plan was set for locally manufacturing the “AstraZeneca” vaccine during the coming period.
