ASWAN, Egypt – Egyptian Culture Minister Inas Abdel Dayem has lauded the works that were displayed at the 26th edition of the Aswan International Sculpture Symposium.
On the sidelines of her participation in the closing ceremony of the symposium, the minister thanked Aswan Governor Ashraf Attia and the governorate’s agencies for the full support provided for the event.
She said the pieces crafted by the symposium were used in decorating public squares and universities in Egypt, MENA reported.
She also lauded late sculptor Adam Hanin’s major role in mastering the Egyptian plastic art and spreading it in the whole world. Hanin is the founder of the Aswan International Symposium for Sculpture in 1996.
The most common example of the plastic arts is sculpture.
Sixteen artists took part in this year’s edition of the symposium.
