Egyptian Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Mohamed Farid witnessed the implementation of the main phase of a tactical drill codenamed Badawi 2021, the Armed Forces spokesman said in a statement posted on his official Facebook page yesterday.
The drill is carried out by one of the units of the Second Field Army using live ammunition, the spokesman said, adding that the drill comes within the framework of the annual combat training plan for Armed Forces formations and units.
The drill’s main phase, the spokesman said, demonstrated the high combat readiness of the participating elements appeared and their skills in using the latest means of cooperation and technical and administrative control to carry out planned and emergency tasks during the battle stages.
The drill also reflected the capability of troops to employ the latest command and control systems for all weapons and equipment as well as the fast detection and identification of field targets and ways of dealing with them.
In a statement to the event, Farid conveyed to 2nd Field Army combatants the appreciation of President Sisi and Defence Minister Mohamed Zaki for the efforts and sacrifices they make in training and in combat missions to eliminate terrorist elements and maintain the stability of security in north Sinai.
He also praised the participating forces’ outstanding performance, stressing in this connection the keenness of the Armed Forces General Command to ensure that units and formations reach the highest level of efficiency and combat readiness.
