Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Issa and Governor of Giza Ahmed Rashid on Thursday witnessed the signing of the operating contract for the first art hotel facility in the country
Hyatt Centric Cairo West is located in Pyramids Heights Business Park. It is strategically located in west Cairo, minutes away from the Grand Egyptian Museum, the Pyramids of Giza and Sphinx International Airport.
The contract was signed between Basil Sami Saad, Chairman of the Board of Directors ALDAU Development, a subsidiary of Sami Saad Holding, which was founded in 1962, and Peter Norman, senior VP, Acquisition and Development, Europe, Africa, Middle East at Hyatt Hotels.
The establishment of this art hotel is part of ongoing preparations to develop and raise the efficiency of tourist services in the vicinity of the Grand Egyptian Museum in readiness for its opening soon.
“This contract will be the beginning of success for this new type of hotel and a great addition to the existing hotel capacity in west Cairo,” Issa said.
The aim of the national tourism development strategy is to achieve rapid growth of between 25-30 per cent annually, Issa added.
“One of the most important aspects of the strategy is the improvement of the tourism investment climate and the team spirit shared by the government and investors, because the role of the private sector, whether Egyptian or foreign, is to attract more incoming tourism to Egypt,” he said.
“We aim to increase tourist numbers to 30 million annually by 2028,” he added.
Saad said that the Hyatt Centric Cairo West Hotel will open in early 2024.
“Its capacity is 283 hotel rooms that provide all hotel services on an area of 27,000 square metres with investments of LE1 billion.
“Signing this contract is a continuation of cooperation with Hyatt Hotels, to be the second hotel in Cairo under the group’s management,” Saad added.
