CAIRO – Egyptian Environment Minister Yasmine Foad and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Khaled Abdel Ghaffar have launched the Climate pioneers initiative to hone climate change-linked capabilities of university youths.
The initiative was launched on Saturday in cooperation with the Center of Excellence for Research and Applied Studies of Climate Change and Sustainable Development – which is affiliated to the National Research Center – in the presence of a host of officials of respective bodies.
Foad underlined the need to cooperate with the Ministry of Higher Education to qualify university students and raise their awareness about the climate change issues.
For his part, Abdel Ghaffar praised fruitful and continued cooperation between the ministries of Environment and Higher Education to launch all initiatives and programs related to hosting the COP27 conference.
