Minister of Civil Aviation, Sameh el-Hefny, held talks on Thursday with a delegation from the China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) on co-operation in developing local airports.
This comes within the framework of a series of meetings by the minister with officials from major international companies specialised in infrastructure projects to raise the levels of services offered travellers at local airports.
The meeting discussed aspects of joint co-operation regarding related projects linked to the development of some Egyptian airports.
The Chinese delegation presented a detailed explanation on the proposed designs and ideas for developing Cairo and Hurghada international airports, with the ultimate goal of upgrading the Egyptian airport system to match major international airports in terms of the quality and diversity of services provided.
Minister el-Hefny expressed appreciation for the Chinese company’s great role in implementing a number of national projects inside Egypt, given its international expertise in the field of construction and building.
He stressed the keenness of the Ministry of Civil Aviation to study all proposals and designs submitted by the Chinese side carefully.
For their part, the members of the Chinese delegation pointed to the Central Business District project in the New Administrative Capital and the New Alamein City as a successful model of cooperation between the Chinese company and Egypt.
They said their company is ready to provide the necessary support and expertise to implement aspiring projects in the Egyptian civil aviation sector, which enhances Egypt’s position as an attractive tourist and investment destination.
