A GROUP of civil society organisations have coalesced to launch a charter for promoting their contribution to the state’s developmental efforts in various fields of social life.
“The Charter of the National Alliance for Civil Development Action” is the title of the landmark instrument that the group signed on Sunday in response to President Sisi’s earlier declaration of 2022 as the Year of Civil Society.
In the foremost of the organisations that signed the charter were the General Federation of NGOs, the Decent Life Foundation, Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation, the Egyptian Food Bank, the Egyptian Zakat (Alms) House, Al Joud Foundation, Dar Al Orman Charity Association, Misr El Kheir Foundation, the National Cancer Institute, Raie Misr Organisation and Dr Mostafa Mahmoud Charity Association.
In a statement following the signing of the charter, the alliance’s member organisations said they were motivated by common willingness to contribute effectively to developmental efforts in the fields of services, health, awareness-raising, education and urban community life.
