Chadian President Mahamat Deby expressed on Thursday appreciation for President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s initiative to get Sudan out of the current crisis.
During the opening session, Deby underlined the importance of holding the summit at this important timing to cease fire in Sudan, reiterating his country’s readiness to settle the crisis in Sudan.
Confrontations in Sudan are a great source of concern for all neighboring countries, including Chad, he said, calling on all international sides to intervene to settle the crisis and alleviate humanitarian suffering of civilians.
He said Chad received more than 150,000 Sudanese over the past few days, mostly women and children, placing burdens on the country.
He urged the international community to take immediate measures to face the humanitarian crisis.
