The Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Administrative Capital For Urban Development (ACUD) Company are co-organising a youth ceremony today under the auspices of President Sisi to mark the launch of the “Youth Summer” initiative.
Five thousand young people representing all governorates will take part in the event, with Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhi and ACUD chairman Khaled Abbas attending.
A number of Cabinet ministers, governors, sports figures, representatives of youth establishments, media people and art celebs would also attend the ceremony.
The event will be held at the People’s Plaza in the New Administrative Capital.
The event aims to encourage and promote young people’s active engagement in sporting, cultural and social activities during summer time, Minister Sobhi said in statements ahead of the ceremony.
The initiative, he added, comes in pursuance of the Youth Ministry’s keenness to provide a vigorous and safe environment for the practice of sporting activities, in addition to motivating innovation and creativity in various fields.
