The trade balance deficit rose by 4.3 per cent to reach $3.74 billion during May 2023, compared to $3.57 billion during the same month of 2022, said the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS) on Tuesday.
In a report, CAPMAS said exports declined by 20.9 per cent to reach 3.38 billion dollars in May 2023 against 4.28 billion dollars in the same month of last year.
Meanwhile, imports receded by 9.4 per cent to stand at $7.12 billion in May 2023 against $7.85 billion in the same month of 2022.
