Sameh El-Hefny, Egypt’s Civil Aviation Minister (CAM), held discussions with Hoda Yassa, President of the Arab Businesswomen’s Union, and her accompanying delegation to explore avenues for joint co-operation between the two parties.
During the meeting, Minister El-Hefny emphasised the importance of collaborating with the private sector and supporting effective partnerships to attract more investments. This initiative is part of the Civil Aviation Ministry’s plan to enhance co-operation with African and Arab countries and to inject more foreign direct investment into the civil aviation sector.
El-Hefny highlighted the significance of activating the African market, noting the Egyptian civil aviation sector’s focus on expanding co-operation in various air transport activities with African partners, particularly in training and knowledge exchange. He also expressed pride in the contributions of Arab women in development and sustainability, acknowledging their pivotal role in driving tangible achievements and societal progress.
Hoda Yassa praised the developmental role played by the Civil Aviation Ministry in opening new developmental pathways to support Egypt’s civil aviation system in the region. She highlighted the importance of this vital sector and its supportive role in the Union’s initiatives, including “For Your Country,” “Our Arab Unity,” and “Our International Co-operation.” These initiatives aim to boost incoming air traffic and tourism to Egypt.
Yassa also stressed the Union’s role in supporting investment, recognising Egypt as one of the most significant tourist attractions in the Middle East and Africa. She expressed the Union’s readiness to fully co-operate with all state institutions and ministries to achieve common goals and provide necessary support across various fields.
During the meeting, Yassa presented the Union’s future work plan, which includes hosting the 27th session of the “Arab-African Investment and International co-operation Summit” from November 12 to 15 in Aswan. The summit, held under the auspices of the Egyptian Prime Minister, will gather top investors and business leaders from various Arab and African countries to forge partnerships in different sectors. She extended an invitation to Minister El-Hefny to sponsor and inaugurate the summit and deliver a speech on the role of aviation in supporting Arab-African and international tourism Co-operation, showcasing the advancements being implemented in the aviation sector.
