Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aati received and Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić Radman, have discussed the menacing military escalation unfolding in the region.
During a phone call which Abdel-Aatu received from Radman, ahead of a meeting for European Union foreign ministers, Radman voiced interest in getting acquainted with Egypt’s assessment of the situation.
He also stressed Cairo’s pivotal role and efforts to de-escalate tensions and maintain regional stability.
For his part, Abdel-Aati outlined Egypt’s evaluation of recent developments, and stressed the urgent need to reduce tensions and prioritize diplomatic solutions, before the situation spirals out of control.
He warned of the grave consequences for regional and international peace and security if escalation continues unchecked.
The Egyptian minister emphasised the importance of respecting state sovereignty, adhering to the principles of good neighbourliness, and exercising maximum restraint during this critical period.
Radman praised Egypt’s efforts and highlighted European partners’ reliance on Cairo’s leadership in supporting regional security and stability.
The two ministers agreed to maintain close coordination in the coming period, reflecting the strength of Egyptian-Croatian relations and their shared commitment to advancing bilateral co-operation and supporting regional peace and stability.
