Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, on Tuesday, reviewed United Energy Group’s (UEG) activities in Egypt, mainly in oil and gas production in the Western Desert.
Minister Badawi held talks today with UEG’s Chairman and Executive Director, Song Yu, and, the company’s Regional President for Africa, Kamel El-Sawi, on the sidelines of the Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES 2026).
Several ministry officials attended the meeting.
UAE’s officials highly appreciated the current investment climate and the measures taken to overcome challenges and support business operations. They also affirmed commitment to accelerating drilling activities to help unlock new reserves and increase production rates.
Discussions addressed prospects for cooperation between the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation and the company, which is a leader in renewable and green energy, to implement solar energy solutions in operations. This would contribute to reducing diesel consumption and improving operational efficiency.
