The Minister of Youth and Sports, Gohar Nabil, signed two memoranda of understanding in the fields of youth and sports with BRICS+ countries, as part of Egypt’s broader strategy to expand international cooperation and strengthen engagement within the bloc.
The signing ceremony was attended by Brazil’s Ambassador to Cairo, Paulino Franco de Carvalho Neto, India’s Ambassador to Egypt, Suresh K. Reddy, along with representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Speaking at the event, Nabil described the MoUs as a significant step toward enhancing both bilateral and multilateral relations with BRICS+ countries.
He noted that the MoUs would support the implementation of joint programmes aimed at empowering youth, advancing the sports sector, and facilitating the exchange of expertise in training and capacity building.
The minister also highlighted opportunities to maximise the use of sports infrastructure and strengthen Egypt’s ability to host international events, describing the MoUs as a driver of economic, athletic, and youth development.
Nabil added that the coming phase will focus on activating the agreements through youth exchange programmes, joint training camps, and the organisation of sports tournaments and events bringing together young people from BRICS+ countries.
These initiatives, he said, will promote cultural exchange, openness, and the development of innovative youth capable of contributing to national development.
