Cairo, Moscow agree to intensify co-operation
Egypt and Russia agreed Friday to enhance their co-operation in various production and service fields.
During the 13th Joint Egyptian-Russian Committee in Moscow, the ministers of trade and industry of both countries also agreed to intensify co-operation in trade, finance, industry, investments, energy, minerals, civil aviation, education, tourism and agriculture.
This committee meeting reflected close relations between Egypt and Russia, Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamie said.
The meeting symbolises the desire of the governments of both countries to boost cooperation to serve the interests of their peoples and advance development efforts, she added.
She said she and her Russian counterpart had agreed to do their best to implement the comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation agreement between the two countries which was signed in 2018.
She added that the 13th session of the joint committee meeting was a success, reflecting the progress in relations between Cairo and Moscow over the years.
We are laying the foundations of a new phase in relations between the two countries, one based on strong support from the political leadership of both countries, Gamie said.
She underlined the importance of putting the Joint Egyptian-Russian Business Council to active work. The council would play a role in bolstering economic relations between the two countries, she said.
Gamie announced that the 14th session of the joint committee of the two countries would be in Cairo next year.
