President meets senior aides to King Hamad of Bahrain
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has reaffirmed Egypt’s keenness on deepening historic ties with the Kingdom of Bahrain, emphasising the importance of continued co-operation and coordination between the two countries in the face of regional challenges.
The President’s reaffirmation of this position came during his meeting on Monday with Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor and Commander of the Royal Guard of Bahrain, and Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Commander of Bahrain’s Special Operations.
At the outset of the meeting, the president welcomed the Bahraini delegation and conveyed Egypt’s profound appreciation for the leadership of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, praising the consistent efforts of the Bahraini leadership in supporting regional stability, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed el-Shennawy said.
He added that the visiting delegation delivered messages of cordial greetings from King Hamad and Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain.
They reiterated the strength of the fraternal bond between Egypt and Bahrain and underscored the mutual desire to enhance bilateral cooperation across various sectors.
Discussions during the meeting also touched upon key regional developments, the spokesman said, adding that the two sides exchanged views on the ongoing situation in the Gaza Strip, with a shared emphasis on the urgency of achieving a ceasefire and restoring calm.
In this respect, President Sisi highlighted Egypt’s ongoing diplomatic efforts, in coordination with Qatar and the United States, aimed at facilitating de-escalation and ensuring the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid to those in need.
The two sides, the Presidency spokesman said, reaffirmed their rejection of any forced displacement of Palestinians and expressed the need for containing tensions in a number of countries in order to preserve regional security and stability.
