Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Mohamed Farid Saleh, held talks in Cairo on Monday with British Ambassador to Egypt Mark Bryson Richardson on ways to strengthen bilateral economic co-operation, increase investments, and expand trade between the two countries.
The discussions focused on opportunities available to British companies in Egypt, particularly in the sectors of industry, renewable energy, financial services, healthcare, education, and financial technology.
The two sides also reviewed ongoing British investments and projects, as well as co-operation in clean energy and low-emission economic initiatives.
Saleh said Egypt was keen to deepen its partnership with the UK across several strategic sectors, including industry, energy, technology, education, and healthcare.
He added that the Egyptian government was continuing efforts to improve the investment climate, enhance economic competitiveness, support the green transition, and align with international environmental standards.
For his part, Ambassador Richardson highlighted the strong interest of British companies in expanding their investments in Egypt, particularly in clean energy, infrastructure, financial services, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and digital transformation.
Both sides agreed that significant opportunities exist to strengthen economic co-operation and expand joint projects in the coming period.
