Cairo Governor Ibrahim Saber welcomed on Monday a visiting delegation from the city of Beijing, led by Deputy Mayor Sun Shu, at the Cairo Governorate headquarters.
The two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two cities across various fields, particularly education, cultural and technological exchange, and the digital economy.
Discussions also covered means boosting co-operation in trade, investment, energy, and environmental protection.
Governor Saber emphasised the deep historical ties between Egypt and China- two nations with rich, ancient civilisations.
The visit offers a new step towards strengthening local cooperation between the two cities, at the time when they are preparing to celebrate the 35th anniversary of their twinning agreement next October.
Governor Saber highlighted the strategic importance and significant economic and technological capabilities that both cities possess.
