Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, Kamel el-Wazir, held a meeting on Tuesday with representatives from nine Turkish companies operating in Egypt. These companies are specialises in textiles, ready-made garments, packaging, and household appliances. Talks during the meeting focused on future expansion plans in the Egyptian market.

Wazir referred to robust economic ties binding Cairo and Ankara, stressing Egyptian government’s keenness to provide full support to serious investors looking to expand in the local market.

The minister announced the imminent formation of a special task force, under a cabinet decree, dedicated to overseeing Turkish investments in Egypt and resolving any challenges they may encounter.

This step is aimed to facilitate the growth of Turkish investments and enhance exports from Egypt to international markets.

During the discussions, representatives of these Turkish companies raised several challenges they face in the Egyptian market. Minister Wazir assured them that the Ministry of Industry would take immediate action in coordination with relevant authorities to resolve these issues.

For his part, Mustafa Denizli, head of the Turkish side of the Joint Business Council, reaffirmed the Turkish companies’ commitment to increasing investments nationwide. He commended the success Turkish businesses have achieved over the past few years.
