Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Abbas Helmi led a high-level Egyptian delegation during a few-days’ visit to Singapore, where he witnessed the signing ceremony of two memoranda of understanding between Cairo Airport Company and Singapore’s Changi Airports International Company, marking a significant step towards enhancing the airport experience for passengers travelling through Cairo International Airport.
Under the agreements, Changi Airports International will provide Cairo Airport Company with technical assistance and advisory services aimed at improving operational efficiency of the logistics village at Cairo International Airport, enhancing shipping experience, and increasing the airport’s competitiveness on a global scale, a statement released by the Civil Aviation Ministry said.
The statement said that the upgrade of Cairo International Airport is part of a promising plan adopted by the ministry to modernize all Egyptian airports’ services and introduce the latest technologies that promote the level of services offered to passengers.

Cairo International Airport is one of the busiest airports in Africa, serving millions of passengers annually, added the statement.
Magdy Ishaq, Chairman of Cairo International Airport, representing the Ministry of Civil Aviation, signed the deals, while CEO of Changi Airports Interantional Eugene Gan signed for the Singaporean side in the presence of a galaxy of officials from both sides.
Changi Airports International is a renowned airport management company, operating some of the world’s best airports, including Singapore Changi Airport, which has consistently been ranked as one of the world’s best airports.
The company is known for its focus on passenger experience, operational efficiency, and sustainability, making it a highly sought-after partner for airports around the world.

The collaboration between Cairo Airport Company and Changi Airports International is expected to bring significant benefits to both parties, said the minister, voicing confidence over the ability of the Singaporean company to work out high-level solutions for the upgrade of Cairo International Airport and turning Egypt to a hub for the passengers and commodities movement.
Cairo International Airport will benefit from the expertise and knowledge of one of the world’s best airport management companies, enabling it to provide passengers with a seamless travel experience, from check-in to boarding, he added.
Additionally, the partnership is expected to attract more international airlines to Cairo International Airport, increasing the airport’s global reach and boosting its role as a major aviation hub in the region.
For Changi Airports International, the partnership provides an opportunity to expand its presence in the Middle East, a region with significant growth potential in the aviation industry.
The company will be able to leverage its expertise in airport management to support the development of Cairo International Airport, further establishing its reputation as a global leader in the aviation industry.
