CAIRO- The restructuring of the subsidy system aims to transform it into a digital one and exclude those who are not in need of the subsidy by updating regularly beneficiary lists, said Cabinet Spokesman Mohamed el-Homosany on Tuesday.
“The subsidy monitoring process takes into consideration price changes to provide the necessary support to those deserving, enabling the state to provide resources to assist the real beneficiaries,” Hosmosany said in statements to Extra News satellite channel.
The system’s governance relies heavily on digital transformation and utilizing technology tools to prepare a comprehensive database of eligible recipients, the spokesman added.
Selecting the subsidy beneficiaries is carried out in coordination between the Ministry of Supply and relevant bodies to outline criteria of reviewing the lists of beneficiaries and their eligibility for deserving the subsidy, especially the most vulnerable segments, Homosany added.
